چکیده

Max-3-SAT. In this problem, the domain is {0, 1}; a collection of constraint types are disjunctions of the form {xi∨xj ∨xk, xi∨xj ∨xk, xi∨xj ∨xk, . . . , xi∨xj ∨xk, xi∨xj, . . . , xi∨ xj, xi, xi} resulting in total of 14 constraint types. Max-Cut. Here, the domain is again {0, 1}, the collection of constraint types is simply {vi 6= vj}. Intuitively, we have one such constraint for each edge in a given Max-Cut instance, and the goal is to label the vertices.

Lecture 4: Quantum Constraint Satisfaction Games

In this last lecture, we revisit several quantum constraint satisfaction games. As explained in previous lectures, these games do not give rise to sound proof systems for the corresponding constraint satisfaction problems (CSP). Seen from a different angle, however, they do give definitions and say something interesting about a quantum variant of the constraint satisfaction problems. We will di...

Iterative Forward Search: Combining Local Search with Maintaining Arc Consistency and a Conflict-based Statistics

The paper presents an iterative forward search framework for solving constraint satisfaction and optimization problems. This framework combines ideas of local search, namely improving a solution by local steps, with principles of depth-first search, in particular extending a partial feasible assignment towards a solution. Within this framework, we also propose and study a conflict-based statist...

A New Method for Solving Constraint Satisfaction Problems

Many important problems in Artificial Intelligence can be defined as Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSP). These types of problems are defined by a limited set of variables, each having a limited domain and a number of Constraints on the values of those variables (these problems are also called Consistent Labeling Problems (CLP), in which “Labeling means assigning a value to a variable.) Solu...

Presenting Constraints

We describe the constraint satisfaction problem and show that it unifies a very wide variety of computational problems. We discuss the techniques that have been used to analyse the complexity of different forms of constraint satisfaction problem, focusing on the algebraic approach, explaining the basic ideas and highlighting some of the recent results in this area. The above abstract belongs to...
